Family Health Plus

Family Health Plus is a public health insurance program for adults who are aged 19 to 64 who have income or resources too high to qualify for Medicaid. Family Health Plus is available to single adults, couples without children, and parents with limited income who are residents of New York State and are United States citizens or fall under one of many immigration categories.
Family Health Plus provides comprehensive coverage, including prevention, primary care, hospitalization, prescriptions and other services. There are minimal co-payments for some Family Health Plus services. Partnership for Coverage

The Partnership for Coverage, is a state initiative to develop a strategy for achieving affordable universal coverage in New York State.  The Urban Institute will model four coverage options for the state including:  a single payer “Medicare-for-all” approach; New York Health Plus, which would extend Family Health Plus to all citizens;  a combination of public-private coverage reform, simplification and expansion efforts;  and, the Freedom Plan which would rely on private market approaches to coverage.

Connections to Coverage Campaign

The Connections to Coverage Campaign is an initiative of the New York State Department of Health Office of Health Insurance Programs.  The Campaign’s goal is to cover every child and teen and more than one-third of uninsured adults through public health insurance. PHI is a partner in this campaign.

Health Care for All New York

PHI recently became a sponsor of the Health Care for All New York campaign which is a statewide campaign dedicated to achieving affordable, comprehensive, high-quality health care for all residents of New York by 2010. The campaign has developed ten standards for affordable quality health care which include access, affordability for a family budget, portability, and comprehensive coverage.
