Kurt Wise is the fiscal policy analyst of the Maine Center for Economic Policy and facilitator of the Maine Direct Care Worker Coalition. Before joining MECEP in 2008, he worked for a fiscal watchdog organization in Boston, tracking changes in state spending and analyzing their fiscal impacts. His interest and prior research has been focused on the role government programs play in balancing economic growth with distributional equity. He has a master’s degree in public policy analysis from Duke University.
